Every old building has a story.
Some stories are written in brick and timber. Others are written in the people who passed through its doors.
The building that now houses Crafters Warehouse has seen more than a century of both.
In the early years of the twentieth century, when Spokane was a city of railroads, mills, and growing neighborhoods, the building opened as Dorian Brewery. For more than thirty years, it was a familiar landmark on Second Avenue, only a short walk from what would later become the historic Fox Theater. It was a place where hardworking people gathered after long days, where friends celebrated good fortune, and where conversations often lasted longer than the evening itself.
As the city changed, so did the building.
When the brewery closed, its great open spaces found new purpose. For a time it became a furniture showroom, filling its rooms with handcrafted tables, chairs, cabinets, and pieces built to last for generations. Years later, technology brought a different kind of craftsmanship. The building became home to a busy call center, where hundreds of conversations passed through its walls each day, connecting people from across the country.
Eventually, those voices grew quiet.
The building stood empty once again.
Dust settled where laughter had once echoed. Sunlight streamed through old windows onto worn wooden floors. It seemed as though the building had told its last story.
But old buildings are patient.
They wait for someone with enough imagination to see not what they are, but what they could become.
That someone was Crafters Warehouse.
Today the old brewery has found a new purpose—not brewing beer, but crafting experiences.
Music fills the rooms once again. Friends gather to dance, laugh, celebrate, and create memories. Original songs are written for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, friendships, and every occasion in between. Artists, DJs, musicians, and dreamers all find a place here.
In many ways, the building has come full circle.
More than a hundred years ago, people came here to celebrate life together.
They still do.
Only now, instead of crafting great beer, we’re crafting unforgettable moments.
