An Old Warehouse with a New Purpose
Crafters Warehouse began with a building, an idea and a simple question:
What could we create here?
The building that houses Crafters Warehouse was once part of the Old Doering Brewery. Its brick walls and industrial atmosphere evoke a time when people came to work with their hands, turning raw ingredients into something that could be shared.
We wanted to preserve that sense of creation while giving the building an entirely new life.
Instead of manufacturing products, today’s Crafters Warehouse is a place for crafting music, entertainment, friendships and memories.
Why “Crafters”?
The name is meant to include far more than one kind of creativity.
A songwriter crafts words and music. A performer crafts an experience. A DJ crafts the mood of a gathering. A decorator crafts an environment. Friends who spend time together craft memories and relationships.
Even the audience participates. Their encouragement, enthusiasm and willingness to listen help transform a collection of songs into a genuine shared experience.
Crafters Warehouse is built around the belief that creativity is not reserved for professionals. Everyone has experiences, ideas and stories worth sharing. Sometimes a person simply needs an opportunity, a little encouragement and a welcoming place to begin.
A Venue with Several Purposes
The different rooms reflect the many ways people can participate.
The Stage gives performers a public place to share their work with the community.
The Forge provides a smaller environment for private performances among friends.
The Foundry is where personal experiences and memories can begin their transformation into original songs through Soundtracks.
The Music Room allows people to discover songs beyond a single scheduled performance.
Together, these spaces create something larger than an ordinary music venue. They connect the creation of a song with its performance, its audience and the memories it may inspire.
What We Hope It Will Become
Taz and Veronica want Crafters Warehouse to become a dependable home for entertainment within RLC—a place that welcomes both familiar entertainers and new voices.
We envision regular performances, original song premieres, private shows and seasonal celebrations. We also hope people will come here simply because they know they can find music, friends and a relaxed atmosphere.
We cannot know every direction Crafters Warehouse will take. That story will be written by the performers, DJs, volunteers and visitors who become part of it.
The warehouse has already had one life devoted to making things.
Now it is ready to begin another.
